Como centros turísticos están: el balneario los Aposentos, los baños de Pixcayá, las Delicias y Río pequeño en Comalapa, el balneario Ojo de Agua en San Martín Jilotepeque, las cuevas de Venecia y cuevas del Diablo, las cataratas de la Torre y del Río Nicán, estos últimos en San Miguel Pochuta.
El nombre de Pochuta, se deriva del kachikel, "pochutl" que significa Lugar de Ceibas, y en donde se puede apreciar este árbol a lo largo de su recorrido, hasta incluso el parque central de la localidad cuenta con un centenario árbol en el centro. Es conocida por muchos como la Tierra de Cristal ya que posee una mina de silice.
Entre los centros arqueológicos se pueden mencionar: Iximché, que fue el gran centro ceremonial del señorío Cakchiquel, aquí también se asentó la primera capital del Reino de Guatemala en 1524; otro centro arqueológico de gran importancia es el de Mixco Viejo, el cual fue habitado por Pocomames y su arquitectura es similar a la de Iximché.
Además podemos mencionar los volcanes gemelos de Acatenango y Fuego, en los municipios de Acatenango y Yepocapa respectivamente. El Primero, homónimo de su municipio, es el tercero en altura, además de contener un hermoso bosque. En los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre no es raro que cierta cantidad de nieva cubra la punta del volcán por la mañana. El Volcán de Fuego esta actualmente en actividad
